allright, i've reached my limit. i swear to god, i'm writing a letter of complaint to tsn and demanding that they consider gymnastics enough of a sport to show on their channel. i have seen billiards, darts, bowling, curling, ballroom dancing, car races - even dog shows. but just now, when i flipped thru the channels to see if anything appealing was on, i found table tennis. table tennis! PING PONG! anything you can do reasonably well while pissed drunk in someone's basement is NOT A SPORT! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!
gymnastics, you close-minded macho men! it even comes in different forms! mens, womens, junior, senior, canadian (low-calibre and poorly funded), american, european, artistic, rhythmic, tramp and tumbling, even professional exhibition that i curse out in my old-school puritan fashion for the love of god! IT'S A FUCKING SPORT AND PEOPLE WATCH IT! THEY MIGHT NOT GET IT, AND THEY MIGHT NOT UNDERSTAND WHY WHAT IMPRESSES THEM MAKES ME CRINGE, AND THEY MIGHT CURSE US OUT FOR RUINING LITTLE GIRLS' CHILDHOODS AND JOINTS AND PSYCHES, BUT THEY WOULD WATCH IT IF YOU SHOWED IT! WHO WATCHES TABLE TENNIS?!
terribly sorry to have subjected you all to that. you've all got your pet peeves, this is mine. a lifetime of fighting to be considered a sport and trying to keep up with an international field thru reading a magazine that i have to buy at a chapters an hour away and watching the olympics on tv every four years. it makes me a little crazy. sometimes it even makes me wish i were in the states.
