THIS EASTER, HELP CARE FOR BUNNIES IN NEED
Did you know that your actions through The Animal Rescue
Site in part benefit rescued bunnies? Our nonprofit partner,
The Fund for Animals, was given a 30-acre farm in 1978 for
the establishment of a sanctuary specifically for domestic
rabbits.
The sanctuary's unique "Home for Life" policy ensures a
permanent home for approximately one hundred rabbits, all
fugitives from local shelters, commercial breeders,
laboratories, and unfit homes, plus a few strays. Health
care is provided in the light and airy "bunny health care
building" and some of the sanctuary's old-timers are housed
there as well.
The sanctuary is composed of one large, new rabbitat and
two smaller rabbitats, providing state-of-the-art safety
and security for the rabbits. Within these rabbitats are
rabbit territories of various sizes, where rabbits live
in groups of two to four. Their many activities include
running, chasing, leaping, sunning, cuddling, and most
importantly, digging.
